September was a strong month for gambling content. Viewers spent almost twice as much time watching gambling streams on Kick as they did the month before. Total hours watched rose by 93% compared with August, while the platform as a whole recorded growth of 15.65%. Gambling streams attracted particularly strong interest.
The platform’s offering for businesses and creators has also changed in recent months. Kick launched advertising, while GGPoker added Kick integration for its approved streamers. Each model comes with different payment terms, which are particularly relevant to casino broadcasters.
Gambling Climbs to Seventh Place
Kick recorded 773.8 million hours watched in September, setting a new monthly record. Average concurrent viewership reached approximately 1.09 million, passing the million mark for the first time. Gambling climbed three places in the genre rankings to finish the month in seventh.
Hours watched reflect both audience size and the time people spend watching streams. An increase can therefore come from a larger audience, longer sessions or a combination of the two. It does not mean that the number of viewers grew by the same percentage.
Kick Ads Do Not Provide a Separate Payout
Kick announced the launch of Kick Ads on August 7. In its pitch to advertisers, the platform reported more than 100 million active users and over 41,000 creators broadcasting each month. September’s figures show that watch time has continued to grow since the platform introduced advertising.
An ad appearing on a stream does not, however, mean extra pay for the broadcaster. Under Kick’s advertising rules, KPP participants are paid through the Partner Program, while ads do not generate a separate, direct payout. The documentation also states that monetisation is unavailable in the Slots & Casino category.
The introduction of ads on Kick does not affect creators’ existing individual sponsorship agreements. That distinction matters for casino channels working directly with operators.
GGPoker Offers Support Outside Kick’s Payout System
GGPoker is developing a separate model. The operator added Kick to Streamer Mode on June 23. Approved participants can receive up to 100% cashback while streaming their play, and their broadcasts may be promoted in the poker client’s lobby.
Streamer Mode also includes a feature that hides hole cards and a panel for managing open tables. In its announcement, GGPoker encouraged applications from creators who had been streaming poker regularly for at least three months, with an average audience of more than 40 concurrent viewers.
Entry to the program requires the operator’s approval. Simply going live on Kick does not unlock these benefits, and the cashback comes through GGPoker’s program.
What Does the Growth Mean for Smaller Channels?
September’s total does not show how much of the additional watch time went to the biggest creators and how much reached smaller channels. For streamers reviewing their own stats, a comparison with similar broadcasters will be more useful, taking language, category and airtime into account.
If hours watched increased after a creator doubled the number of sessions, the channel may simply have spent more time broadcasting to the same audience. Higher average viewership with similar airtime would provide a clearer sign that more people are tuning in to individual streams.
