This year’s Streamer Awards featured 37 categories, but xQc’s name appeared in none of them. Félix Lengyel addressed the omission during his October 16 livestream, mixing surprise with jokes about his own standing in the streaming world. He also declared that he was Streamer of the Year every day.
His reaction, however, is only part of the story. This year’s rules explain the process from submitting a creator’s name to securing a place among the nominees. Name recognition alone does not guarantee a spot on the final ballot, and a missing name does not explain why someone failed to make the shortlist.
xQc Reacts to the Snub: “The King Forgives, but the King Does Not Forget”
Browsing the nominations gave xQc another opportunity to put on a show for his chat. The streamer joked about whether he had received a nomination for his looks before turning to comments about “the king” being overlooked.
“The king forgives, but the king does not forget,” he said during the broadcast. He also singled out the Gamer of the Year category, questioning why he was once again absent from its nominees. His comments showed disappointment, although he kept the overall tone playful.
That does not explain the decisions behind the shortlist, however. The streamer’s reaction reveals how he felt about the nominations; it does not establish what ultimately determined the lineup.
How Are Streamer Awards Nominees Selected?
In an announcement published on the Twitch blog, QTCinderella introduced a new feature for this year’s event: creators could submit themselves for consideration. Streamers could select relevant categories, attach clips and explain why they deserved recognition.
The community still played a significant role. Its selections determined the nominees, with an industry panel adding one additional nominee to each category. Submitting an application was therefore not the same as receiving a nomination.
This structure helps explain why an awards shortlist does not necessarily mirror a ranking of the biggest channels. Securing a place in the competition involves a separate selection process, rather than automatically translating viewership figures into nominations.
Available reports do not establish at what stage xQc fell short of the support needed, or whether he submitted an application himself. Attributing his absence to a specific cause would therefore be speculation.
Why Didn’t xQc Receive a Nomination?
For viewers who follow the most popular casino streamers, xQc remains a familiar name. His presence on Twitch and Kick means the story extends beyond the awards shortlist. It also raises the question of how to assess the success of a creator whose work spans different platforms and formats.
Nominations, viewership and community loyalty reflect different aspects of a streaming career. An awards ceremony shows who received recognition in a particular edition. It does not, on its own, establish whether a channel is gaining viewers, losing relevance or changing direction.
This year’s outcome therefore signals neither the end of xQc’s popularity nor proof that the organizers deliberately excluded him. Such conclusions would require additional data or specific explanations. The streamer himself responded in his own way: by turning his review of the nominations into content for his broadcast.
Who Did xQc Vote For, and When Will the Winners Be Announced?
Despite receiving no nominations himself, Lengyel took part in the voting. He chose IShowSpeed in the Streamer of the Year category. The other nominees for the award were CaseOh, Jynxzi, Stable Ronaldo and Joe Bartolozzi.
Public voting opened on October 16 and runs until October 31, 2026. Under the rules outlined by the organizer, community votes account for 70% of the final result, with the panel contributing the remaining 30%. The ceremony is scheduled for November 12.
