Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., known as DDG, is a 28 year old rapper, YouTuber and streamer from Pontiac, Michigan who graduated as valedictorian of his high school class before dropping out of Central Michigan University when a YouTube video went viral. That decision worked out. He moved to Hollywood, signed with Epic Records in 2018, co-founded his own label Zooted Music and released Moonwalking in Calabasas featuring Blueface in 2020, a double platinum Billboard Hot 100 hit that put him firmly in the mainstream.
The streaming side of the career has grown to match the music. Slots, casino, IRL streams and live music production sessions make up a format that pulls thousands of concurrent viewers, with a peak of over 207,000 on Twitch in May 2025, the same month he revealed the platform had paid him $12 million in a single month. Regular collaborations with xQc, Adin Ross and Kai Cenat have kept him connected to the wider streaming world. The bio says he is taking over Twitch. The numbers suggest he meant it.
